4th Siz Football Gala leaves lasting impressions in Entebbe

4th Siz Football Gala (Top Performers):

  • U-11 Final: Elgon Dove Academy 4-0 Bugabo Soccer Academy
  • U-13 Final: Streamline Football Academy 1-0 Mentor Soccer Academy
  • U-15 Final: Garuga Soccer Academy 0 (6) – 0 (5) Elite Soccer Academy
  • U-17 Final: Makindye Beez 0 (4) – 0 (5) Garuga Soccer Academy

The fourth edition of the Siz Football Academy was successfully held in Entebbe Municipality at the various playgrounds during the first term school holidays.

Organized by Siz Football Academy, this gala lured over 30 teams from the different academies in the varying age groups of U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17.

The Works playground was the main venue where most matches took place with the others being Entebbe SS playground and the lake-side Katabi Gombolola playground.

By close of business, the key objectives of this tournament were attained as creating a platform for talent showcase, bringing together holiday makers, providing entertainment, among others.

In the U-11 category, Nansana based Elgon Dove Academy won the cluster.

Elgon Dove Academy humbled Bugabo Soccer Academy 4-0 in the one sided final.

Junior Kisirinya struck a hat-trick in this duel with Sharif Ssegujja adding the other.

Streamline Football Academy won the U-13 category, winning 1-0 over Mentor Soccer Academy in the final.

Makindye Beez U-17 team

Garuga Soccer Academy clinched a double with two trophies in the U-15 and U-17 categories.

For the U-15 final, Garuga Soccer Academy out-shot Elite Soccer Academy 6-5 in post match penalties after normal time had ended goalless.

Individual top performers:

The overall most valuable player of the tournament was Rogers Muyomba of Elite Football Academy.

Emmanuel Nsamba (Garuga Soccer Academy) was top scorer in U-15 cluster with Swalleh Maganda as the most outstanding goalkeeper.

Junior Egesa (Green Light Academy) top scored the rest of the players in the U-17 category with Patrick Sserugo (Makindye Beez) the best goalkeeper.

In the U-13 section, Desmond Okeng (Streamline Academy) was top scorer with Norman Kaaya as the best goalkeeper.

The fifth edition will take place during the school holidays of second term.
