
Uganda Rugby Cranes concluded a five-day residential camp at the Youth With A Mission Hopeland campus in Wairaka, Jinja on Sunday afternoon.
The technical bench, led by head coach Fred Mudoola, used the camp to name their final squad for the upcoming 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s Cup.

- Team Managers: Andrew Ikopit, Kapa Kimeze, Adam Kabalega.
The 28-man squad was released on Sunday evening during a press event held at The Bourbon in Jinja.

Described by URU Vice-President Eric Butime as the most well-prepared Rugby Cranes team in a long while, it comprises a blend of rookies, sevens internationals, and test veterans.

- Hookers: 1 Nathan Bwambale, 2 Faragi Odugo, 3 Jude Jjuuko.
- Props: 4 Santos Ssenteza, 5 Mike Otto, 6 Saul Kivumbi, 7 Asuman Mugerwa.
- Locks: 8 Eliphaz Emong, 9 Julius Opio, 10 Charles Uhuru, 11 Robert Aziku, 12 Brian Wandera.
- Back Row: 13 Sydney Gongodyo, 14 Moses Zziwa, 15 Alex Aturinda, 16 Mark Omoding, 17 Byron Oketayot (vice-captain).
- Half-backs: 18 Wilfred Pool Kalungi, 19 Conrad Wanyama (vice-captain), 20 Joseph Aredo, 21 Ivan Magomu (Captain).
- Midfield: 22 Thomas Gwotko, 23 Jones Kamiza.
- Outside Backs: 24 Shakim Sembusi, 25 Joseph Oyet, 26 Arnold Ocen, 27 Timothy Kisiga, 28 Philip Wokorach.
Six players will be on standby as non-playing reserves during the tournament to cover for any injuries and withdrawals.
- Reserves: 1 Edward Emiemu, 2 Eber Aturinde, 3 Blair Ayebazibwe, 4 Nicholas Kato, 5 Haruna Mohammed, 6 Robin Odrua.
Ivan Magomu maintains his role as captain. He will be assisted by Byron Oketayot and Conrad Wanyama.

The 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s Cup will kick off on Saturday, July 20 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Uganda will face Zimbabwe in the fourth quarterfinal at 4 p.m. EAT.
