New Wydad Casablanca coach Rulani Mokwana admits the job will be difficult but not impossible.

The South Africa was named the new coach of the Moroccan giants with this being his first job outside of his native and the appointment came just a few days after he was shockingly let go by Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I chose Wydad because they first chose me and of course, the offer is too good to refuse,” he told the media at his unveiling. “Wydad believes in me as a coach and my style of play. We have a common goal and it makes it easier for us to work together,” he added.

“It’s going to be a difficult task but difficult doesn’t mean impossible.”

The young tactician believes in the quality and structure of the club and hopes he will succeed but asked for patience, support and time.

“I have been promised all issues here are now of the past. We look forward to the new direction of Wydad.

“There’s still enough quality in this Wydad side. The team is strong and can be stronger. We will work day and night. It’s achievable. We need time, patience and support. Wydad wants to win and be successful. I am looking forward to this challenge.”

Mokwena becomes the second South African coach after Pitso Mosimane to join a North African club.
