Women’s T20 League defending Champions Soroti City were undone by the early morning shower in Kampala dropping a valuable point to newcomers ACC in the first game of their doubleheader.
However, Soroti City came back in the afternoon and picked up a win to remain on course to defend their title.
ACC with a very youthful side composed of players from the Mukono Community plus the experience of national team players Consy Aweko, Gloria Obukor and Sarah Walaza.
The Jinja Derby between Jinja SS and JACC ended in favour of the former who picked up their first points of the season. JACC added the experience of former Victoria Pearls Captains Immaculate Nakisuyi and Kevin Awino but they could not inspire their new team to victory against the more experienced Jinja SS. Stephanie Nampiina with the runs for Jinja SS on the day with the young Erex Aronda offering support.
Pioneer was able to overcome Ndejje SS in Entebbe picking up maximum points at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe. Pioneer is in collaboration with Masaka SS while Tornado is in collaboration with Ndejje SS and both sides have offered playing opportunities to the school girls.
The young wicketkeeper batter Naome Mbwali (68) was outstanding with the bat in the afternoon game as the two sides played out a high-scoring match.
