Ugandan international midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has been named in the APR squad for the forthcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup 2024.
The ex-SC Villa and Vipers captain is part of coach Darko Novic 24-man squad that travels to Tanzania on Monday.
With the Rwanda record champions in the same group with SC Villa, Lwanga has an opportunity to turn guns against his former employers for the first time since leaving the country for stints abroad.
The squad also has Ghanaian midfielders Seidu Yassif Dauda and Richmond Lamptey signed from Ghana Premier League champions Samartex FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko respectively as well Mauritanian attacker Mamadou Sy who signed from Nouakchott Kings.
The squad includes more new signings Arsene Tuyisenge, Frodouard Mugiraneza, Olivier Dushimimana and Gilbert Byiringiro who joined the club from Rayon Sports, Kiyovu SC, Bugesera FC and Marines FC respectively.
APR have won the CECAFA Kagame Cup three times with their last triumph coming in 2010.
