Vivo energy Uganda has strengthened their commitment to motorsport by further extending support to the local motocross championship.
The sponsorship boost to MX comes a week after Vivo energy financially supported the biggest motorsport event in Uganda; the Shell V-power Pearl of Africa Uganda rally this month.
The MX championship will receive Ugx.50 million to boost for the discipline’s infrastructure and competitiveness.
“This partnership is a strategic investment in performance, potential, and national pride. Motorsport thrives on quality performance, precision, endurance, and ambition, values that define both our business and Uganda’s young athletes,” said Vivo Energy Managing Director Joanita Menya Mukasa.
“We are proud to stand behind the motocross community and to play an active role in driving the sport forward,” she said.

Multiple motocross champion and FMU Deputy Vice President in charge of motorcycling Arthur Blick Jr expressed gratitude on receiving the sponsorship.
“We have partnered with Vivo Energy for over a decade now. This partnership has propelled the growth of the sport both in motor rallying and motocross in the country and nurturing talent as well as creating new opportunities,” said Blick.
“This sponsorship could not have come at a better time. The federation is currently realigning with the sports Act to spread the sport across the country. Vivo Energy Uganda’s support is not only timely, it is transformational,” he added.
This sponsorship reflects the company’s wider business strategy to contribute meaningfully to community development through sport, particularly those that engage youth and foster performance, resilience, and ambition.

The partnership kicks off with the weekend MX round four in Northern Uganda district of Lira.
