Kitara and Vipers renew growing rivalry when they lock horns in the premier league on Wednesday at Royal Park Butema.
The Venoms have a chance to win the league with maximum points from the game but the hosts don’t want them to celebrate triumph from their home ground.
With 65 points, a win will surely hand John Ayala and Fred Muhumuzza’s lads a seventh league with one more round to go regardless of the result from Villa – NEC clash.
The fixture comes three days before another encounter in the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-final first leg where the hosts have much focus.
Muhumuzza says focus is now on the league game and not the Uganda Cup clash after a bitter defeat to BUL in the last outing.
“We’ve prepared well. With just two league games left, Wednesday’s clash against Kitara is massive. The boys have recovered and are pushing hard to ensure we bounce back with a win.”
Kitara ended their five-match goal drought with a 1-0 win over Maroons and will hope to build on that.
Vipers are unbeaten against Kitara in the premier league with four wins and a draw in the past five meetings.
In other matches on Wednesday, Villa host NEC, KCCA take on Lugazi at Lugogo while Maroons are away to unbeaten BUL in Njeru
