Masaka SS was shaken by Mt Rwenzori Girls in their morning game on Matchday 4 of the ongoing Girls Schools Cricket Week in Gulu City.
Masaka SS is chasing top honours in Group A to be certain of booking their place in the semifinals. Mt Rwenzori Girls pushed the table leaders, but the experience of Masaka SS came through for them as they managed to hold on and claim victory.
In the afternoon, they faced off with Group A close rivals and defending champions Light SS but an afternoon heavy downpour crushed the party with both teams picking up a point.
Masaka SS is the happier of the two teams while Light SS remain stranded in third place behind Jinja SS, who picked up a big win the afternoon against St James.

Gayaza High School finally got their first win of the tournament with a 6-wicket win over Good Heart SS. Ndejje SS also finally managed to get something in the win column after putting away Nyakasura School by eight wickets in a short game.
Olila High kept a grip on the top of Group B with a record of six out of six so far. They managed to put away Mt St Henry’s SS Mukono before the heavens opened. The race for second place in Group B is led by Sacred Heart Girls School, with Masindi SS not far off.
The weather is still a big factor in the tournament and teams will have to be smart in their decision-making as we get close to the business end of the tournament.
The sixteen schools have been put in two groups. The top two sides in each group qualify for the semifinals
