- UPDF Lady Tomahawks 52-58 Miracle Eaglets
Miracle Eaglets secured a hard-fought 58-52 victory over the UPDF Lady Tomahawks in the National Basketball League clash at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
The Lady Tomahawks started slow, managing only 14 points in the first two quarters before gaining momentum late in the game.
Linda Michelle Aber’s driving layup concluded the first period with the Lady Tomahawks trailing by just two points.
However, the Lady Tomahawks were limited to only six points in the second quarter, allowing the Miracle Eaglets to open a 13-point lead going into the halftime break.
Despite a strong fightback in the third quarter, the Eaglets maintained a seven-point advantage heading into the final period.
It was an end-to-end fourth quarter, but the Eaglets held firm to seal a six-point victory on the day.
The Lady Tomahawks’ Stella Maris Lunkuse recorded a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.
On the other hand, Winniefred Akello also posted a dominant double-double for the Eaglets, contributing 12 points and 14 rebounds. Mariam Namukwaya added 15 points, while Brenda Alyano chipped in with 14 points.
