Kenya rallied from down to earn a point off The Gambia in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Thursday, 20th March 2025 at the Alassane Ouattara Ebimpe Olympic Stadium in Ivory Coast.
The Gambia squandered a two goal cushion in their 3-all draw with the Harambee Stars from the East African region.
Musa Barrow scored twice and Yankuba Minteh added the other for The Gambia.
Kenya’s goals came from Michael Ogada Olunga (penalty), Mohammed Bajaber and a late-late strike from William Wilson.

Barrow gave the hosts the lead in the 55th minute.
Minteh made it 2-0 six minutes later. Olunga pulled back a goal with a well struck 69th minute penalty.
Bajaber equalized with a quarter an hour of action to play.
Barrow got his second on the evening, The Gambia’s third in the 84th minute and surely victory was destined for the West African country.
In typical fighting spirit, Kenya made amends with an equalizer in the 6th minute of additional time to salvage a point for Kenya.

This was the first match for Kenya Harambee Stars head coach Benny McCarthy.
The draw was the third for Kenya in the campaign where they have already fetched 6 points.
The Gambia have 4 points from five matches.
Gabon overcame Seychelles 3-0 at the new look Stade de Franceville to hit the summit of Group F on 12 points.
Jim Allevinah struck the first goal as early as the third minute. Denis Bouanga then added a brace in the 30th and 63rd minute of the game.
On Friday, Burundi (7 points) take on Ivory Coast (10 points) at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, Morocco.
This Sunday, 23rd March 2025, Kenya hosts Gabon at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
