The Mud Cup, arguably Entebbe’s most prestigious football tournament returns to the front this May.
To be specific, this tournament accommodates players of all ranges (ages).
It will officially kick off on 29th May and climax by 31st May 2025 at the traditional home ground in Banga – Nakiwogo, Entebbe Municipality.


First played in 2021, the tournament has drastically grown in vibrancy, stature and size.
For starters, the Mud cup is organized by 517 Ministry with a bold vision of promoting the talents of players within the country, and at the same time, using football as a tool to reach to the masses.

The Mud cup is an outreach to bless and enrich our community. We are others minded and care for the people. In doing this, we hope to give a platform for players to showcase talents while playing against competitive players and teams in front of scouts and other coaches.

The 7th edition is expected to draw as many as 16 teams that will be divided into groups of 4 apiece with the successful ones after group stages making the grade to the knock-out round until the finals to determine the winner.
Registration fee per team is fixed at Ug.Shs 160,000; with every team assured of a set of jerseys after registering.
To ensure adequate preparations, there will be a tournament meeting on 20th May 2025 at the 517 Ministry offices located in Lunyo, Division A.




Enticing rewards:
There are hefty prizes that await the top performing team and individual players.
The best team will pocket Ug.Shs 500,000, trophy and gold medals.
The runners up team will earn Ug.Shs 300,000 and silver medals whilst the 3rd team shall take home Ug.Shs 100,000.
There shall be individual accolades to the Most Valuable Player (MVP), top scorer, best goalkeeper, best defender, best coach and youngest player.
Since inception, a number of players have played this tournament and many have reaped dividends as being scouted for education bursaries, clubs and Masaza tournaments.


Navigators football club won the first three editions.
Special Forces Command (SFC) triumphed in the fourth edition with Banga Galaticals taking the fifth edition.
Carlos football club won in the sixth edition played in December 2024.
