As the World Rally Championship revs off for the third round at the Safari Rally Kenya, the Africa Rally Championship hopefuls will also be initiating their bid for the title.
This year, the WRC Safari Rally Kenya will double as the first round of the Africa Rally Championship.
Uganda’s Yasin Nasser and Kenya’s Karan Patel, Samman Vohra, Jasmeet Chana, and Hamza Anwar are expected to be going out for the ARC points this week.

Two-time ARC champion Karen Patel is hopeful for a rewarding start.
“My plan this weekend is to focus more on securing maximum points for the Africa Rally Championship. The conditions out there are so tough, that is why we need to streamline our strategy,” he said.
Uganda’s Yasin Nasser believes the Safari Rally will set the tone for the rest of the African rounds
“It is going to be a tough event. But our main target is to finish the event and see how we roll into another ARC contention,” said Yasin.

All the ARC contenders will follow the WRC itinerary for the four days.
