- Lugazi vs SC Villa – Lugazi 3pm
- KCCA vs Rwenzori Lions – Lugogo 7pm
- BUL vs Total FC – Njeru 3pm
Nine-time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners SC Villa visit Lugazi at Najjembe in the round of 16 aiming to save their season.
The league reigning champions have literally no chance of defending their title but Morley Byekwaso can’t afford to exit the Uganda Cup at the moment as that will intensify pressure on him.
In Lugazi, they take on a stubborn side that has turned their league campaign around and head into the cup fixture beaming with confidence.
Without Uganda Cranes players Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Kakande who are in Cairo preparing for the Fifa World Cup qualifier against Mozambique, Byekwaso will look to Charles Lwanga, Aslam Ssemakula and Reagan Mpande for inspiration.
In the only meeting between the two sides, Villa threw away a lead in the 1-1 draw at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
Villa are yet to win the Uganda Cup since beating KCCA 3-0 in 2015 in a replayed final at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
Elsewhere, 2022 cup winners BUL take on Express FC conqueror Total FC while joint-record winners KCCA host regional side Rwenzori at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo at 7pm.
