The youngster will play in an unprecedented three World Table Tennis Youth Contender championships first in Poland (22nd to 25th May) then in Sweden (5th to 8th June) and finally in Norway (10th to 13th June).

The flag-off ceremony was graced by the president of Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) Robert Jjagwe, the vice president UTTA Frank Mulinda and National Council of Sports’ representative Anne Nankya (Administrative Secretary/ Technical).

From 29th May to 4th June 2024, Sebatindira and Katumba will attend a High Level

For starters, Sebatindira was granted this special invitation to the training camp by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) due to his exceptional and extremely fast growing talent.

Sebatindira has so far won three world gold medals (and WTT Titles) in his pockets.

These gold medals came in the categories of Under 11 years (U11) clinched in Egypt, October 2023, U-11 and U-13 won in Qatar during January 2024.

These are the very first world gold medals in the entire History of Ugandan Table Tennis since the sport was started in Uganda in 1952 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction. We thus have a lot of faith that Sebatindira and Katumba will make us proud at these three upcoming championships. Sebatindira is also the only African Player competing at all these events and as such we have called on the entire continent to tune in and support our
Son of Africa as he attempts to prove to the whole world that Africa has great talent that simply needs better development support to unleash its full potential.

For the ITTF Rising Stars Training Camp in Sweden, Sebatindira is both the youngest and only African player invited to attend it.
