Uganda Premier League table leaders Vipers SC have on Tuesday unveiled striker Isaac ‘Falcao’ Ogwang.
The lethal finisher joins the Venoms on a two-year deal from Police FC.
“The 27-year-old striker has signed a two-year contract with the Venoms, keeping him at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, until January 2027 with an option to extend.” Reads the statement on the club website.
Ogwang completed his move on deadline day (Friday last week) and comes to bolster the attacking force for Vipers SC.
Despite being top of the table, the Venoms have struggled to find a perfect target man with much of the scoring burden falling to either Allan Okello or Milton Karisa.
Ogwang therefore arrives to offer the focal point up front and given his scoring ability, he will definitely be the much needed outlet.
Mohamed Salem, Yunus Sentamu, Gusto Mulongo, Kenneth Kimera, and Annest Ankunda have been far from convincing this season and this explain Ogwang’s acquisition.
In the first round, while at Police FC, Ogwang scored six goals. He was also instrumental in the Cops winning promotion to the Uganda Premier League last year, scoring 12 goals in the FUFA Big League.
He becomes the second January acquisition for Vipers SC, joining Joseph Marvin Youngman who returns to Kitende for a second stint from Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
Vipers SC will begin the second round of the League on Tuesday, 11th February 2025 at home to URA FC.
