Mukono district representatives in Basketball at the 2024 Fresh Dairy Games St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde has set themselves a target to qualify for the East Africa championships later this year.
St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde boy’s basketball team makes a routine return to the nationals having also played at last year’s championships played in Mbarara city.
This team that has a gel of the experienced and promising players was officially flagged off at the school premises by the head teacher Joseph Kamya on Friday, 26th April 2024.
Kamya urged the players to remained as hard-working as possible and focused with the target of making it to the FEASSSA Games later this year.
“We have assembled a good team that has really worked hard. The focus is qualification to the FEASSSA Games that will be hosted in Uganda” Kamya who also officially handled over a new set of jerseys stated.
The same message was echoed aloud by the school’s games teacher Daudi Mwaasa.
“We have prepared very well and our team is physically and mentally ready for the games. The target is to qualify for the East African Championships that will be hosted in Uganda” Mwaasa revealed.
The school chaplain also joined to bless the team during the flag-off ceremony.
Malcom Omondi, the school basketball team captain cites the good preparations as a push factor for eyeing great performances at the championships.
“The preparations have been really hard but great. We eye a successful tournament in Ndejje” Omondi stated.
St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde is in pool D with last year’s runners up Elite High school, St Andrews Kahwa, Maryland High School, Joseph Vocational school and hosts Ndejje Secondary School.
Basketball throws off on Sunday, 28th April 2024 at different venues.
At Janan School court two, St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde will face hosts Ndejje SS and later play St Leo’s Kyegobe.
