UCU Lady Canons secured a hard-fought 58-56 victory against JKL Lady Dolphins in game two of the National Basketball League playoff final at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
With the win, the Lady Canons created a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The JKL Lady Dolphins started like a side trailing and opened a 12-point (24-12) lead over UCU at the end of the opening period.
Despite the Lady Canons’ fight in the second period, the Lady Dolphins held a 10-point (37-27) lead going into the long break.

Coming from the locker rooms, the Lady Canons put up a great fight as they further reduced the deficit to only three points (48-45) at the end of the period.
The Lady Canons limited the Lady Dolphins to only eight points in the fourth quarter before they eventually secured a two-point victory.
After pouring in 20 points in the first half, Ekone Brenda was tightly guarded in the second half as she only managed two points in the last 20 minutes.

After having a poor show in game one, Bridget Aber was so instrumental in game two with a double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down 19 rebounds.
In the same breath, Tracy Namugosa scored 17 points and was the other only Lady Canon to reach double digits.
Ekone (23 points), Jane Asinde (12 points), Hope Akello (10 points) led the Lady Dolphins’ scoring charge, though it was not enough to get them the much needed victory.
Game 3 will be played on Sunday.
