Uganda crashed out of the 2024 men’s Rugby Africa Cup after defeat to Zimbabwe in the Quarterfinals at Namboole Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Sables beat the Rugby Cranes, 22-20, and crashed the hosts’ hopes of winning at home on the first day.
On the other hand, six-time defending champions Namibia overcame a stubborn Burkina Faso by 38-05 points.

Last edition’s finalists Kenya settled their score with Senegal from three years ago with a 36-17 result. This was the most physically gruelling match on the day.

Algeria traded blows with Côte d’Ivoire in the only Francophone quarterfinal. The North Africans beat the West Africans by 32-12 points.

Julien Caminati (Algeria) leads the top points scorers’ chart with seventeen points, including a drop goal and penalty kick from behind the center line.
Hooker Beldad Ogeta (Kenya) and winger Querion Majiedt (Namibia) are the current joint-top try scorers with two tries apiece.
The 2024 men’s Rugby Africa Cup will resume with the Cup Semifinals and Placement Matches on Wednesday, July 24 at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
