Masaka Sunshine Football Club sportingly got elevated to the third-tier division of Uganda’s football pyramid.
This was after overcoming Ntunda Old Timers 3-2 in a play-off finale played at the Mityana Ssaza ground.
Dennis Ssewagudde, Uzaifah Jack Koma and Mansour Zidane were on target for Masaka Sunshine Football Club.
The two goals from Ntunda Old Timers were netted by Saidi Ssenyonjo and Douglas Lwetute.
Masaka Sunshine Football Club commenced their journey in association football in 2023 with the fifth division in Zone four (Kimanya, Masaka city).
They played well and were promoted to the fourth division where they featured this season under head coach Abbey Kakumilizi.
Masaka Sunshine Football Club metamorphosized from El Cambio Football Academy and Kakumilizi asserts it was a product of hard work.
“The promotion is due to diligence and team effort from the players, coaches and management. We are glad for this promotion and shall continue to remain committed” Kakumilizi revealed.
Meanwhile, Nantabulirwa Football Club also joined the Buganda regional league (third tier division) after a hard-fought 4-2 post match penalty win over Kikamulo United in another play-off finale.
Normal time of this contest had ended all square, goalless.
