The 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games 2 officially got underway on Wednesday, 10th July at Teso College Aloet.
Netball, the signature sport for these games threw off at the school netball courts.
In some of the games played on match day one, there were one sided contests, close finishes and only one stalemate (15 goals apiece between Blessed Sacrament Kimanya and Fort Portal SS).
St Francis Busunjju from Mpigi zone humbled Moroto High School 32-01 in the most one sided duel.
In other contests, defending champions St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende walloped Light College Katikamu 40-09, Buddo SS out-muscled Ngora High 53-03, Ngando SS thrashed Amus College 61-05.
Baptist High School won 50-06 over Soroti SS, Merryland edged Bukedea Comprehensive 17-12 and St Mathias Kalemba overcame Luzira SS 39-13.
Some games were close finishes; St Jerome’s 17-16 narrow win over Boston High School Mpala and Hamdan Islamic’s 19-18 success over Kajjansi Comprehensive
Match day two will be played on Thursday, 11th July 2024 before the official opening ceremony in the afternoon.
Besides netball, the USSSA Ball Games two also have Handball, Volleyball, Rugby 7’s and Basketball (3X3).
These games are also qualifiers to the 2024 FEASSSA Games that will be hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive and co-hosted by Amus College School.
