Uganda Premier League Champions SC Villa has named the squad that will feature at this year’s DarPort CECAFA Kagame Cup slated to kick off this week in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The squad named has 25 players consisting of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, twelve midfielders and three forwards.
There are new faces on the team that had not yet been officially unveiled by the club. These include Kato Semayange and Denis Kaka Omony both formerly at Soltilo Brights Stars FC.
Others are Geoffrey Lubangakene from Mbale Heroes FC, Najib Yiga from Kitara FC, Johnson Ssenyonga (Jinja North United FC) and Isaac Mpagi from Maroons FC.
There is also a new face on the technical team with Serbian, Momcilo Medic, added as the club statistician.
SC Villa is in Group C alongside Rwanda’s APR FC, Singida Black Stars of Tanzania and South Sudan’s Al Merrikh Bentui.
The tournament will take place between 9th-21st July 2024 with games played at Azam Complex in Chamazi and KMC Stadium in Kinondoni.
