Philip Wokorach was officially unveiled by Rugby Club Orleans after signing a two-year deal with the French club. The announcement came after Wokorach and Uganda won the Cup Final of the first round of the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s in Mauritius.
He scored three tries (two assists) and kicked eleven conversions in the tournament.

Wokorach left the camp and returned to France after the tournament, leaving the team with one empty slot.
Utility back Timothy Mugisha was called in to replace Wokorach and he joined the team in camp on Wednesday evening.
He took part in Thursday’s training session and the captain’s run on Friday morning.

Since Wokorach was playing as a forward, this means that one of Isaac Massanganzira, Pius Ogena, and Desire Ayera will likely be brought into the starting lineup for Uganda. Given his wide range of skills and abilities, Mugisha will provide cover for both the forwards and the backs.
The Rugby Cranes will face Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso in the pool phase during the second round on Saturday, July 6.
