The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has aggressively continued to front purely positive agendas for the people of Uganda.
From preaching good citizenry through patriotic deeds, national unity, peace and stability, PLU is also tackling social-economic provocations that affect most Ugandans on a daily basis.
Community empowerment projects are also being realized as well as recreational activities as sports, music, drama and drama.
The recent PLU successful sports gala for the people of Entebbe sub district was held at the historic Works playground in Division A, Entebbe Municipality on Saturday, 22nd June 2024.
There were different sports activities ranging from the most popular sport football, netball to the tag of war as well as entertainment from different music groups and artists.
His Worship Fabrice Brad Rulinda, the mayor of Entebbe Municipality was the chief host of this sports gala held in coordination with PLU Entebbe city team.
“You are most welcome to Entebbe Municipality” H.E Rulinda opened started his speech. “The Patriotic League of Uganda is here to address the concerns of every Uganda and in Entebbe, we are more than humbled to receive and host you. We shall remain focused to driving the agenda set up” H.E Rulinda added.
The chief guest was Cedric Babu, the vice president of the PLU movement in Kampala metropolitan who is also the chairman MK Sports club.
“I thank the organizing team for this successful sports gala. The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) will continue to organize similar events for the youth as we front the national unity agenda” Babu noted in his brief remarks.
In some of the football matches played, Nkumba Kataka won their contest over Special Forces Command (SFC), PLU Entebbe overcame Busi and MK Football Club defeated Mazowezo 1-0 in the last duel of the day.
The netball gala was won by Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). The different top performing teams were each rewarded with a glittering trophy.
A special women musical group and the singing duo dubbed Team No Fear of the “Mutickinge” fame entertained the crowd and other guests.
For starters, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) was cropped out from the MK Movement which was started in April 2022.
This was after a spontaneous and diverse group of Ugandans who rallied around Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to appreciate his military service, and the service of his army comrades, to the Republic of Uganda.
