
2024 Buganda Masaza Cup (Football):
- Bulemeezi 0-1 Buluuli
The 2024 Buganda Masaza football competition has officially kicked off at the Kosovo playground in Luweero on Saturday, 22nd June.
Buluuli won 1-0 away to rivals Bulemeezi in the official opening match watched by a capacity crowd that included the Katikiro (Prime minister) Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga.
Robert Ssewanyana scored the day’s solitary goal in the opening stanza of the game.
It then necessitated solid defending from Buluuli for the rest of the game to guard their lead and win the game to fetch maximum points.


Buluuli’s dreadlocked player Muhammed Kanyike was named man of the match for the impressive display in the game and recieved a plaque from the Katikiro
The rest of the matches will be played in the subsequent weekends.
The tournament has been played since 2004 with Gomba the record champions having won an unprecedented five titles.
