UCU Lady Canons registered a well-deserved 81-67 victory against KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The Canons returned to winning ways after suffering a narrow loss against JT Jaguars in their last game.
UCU Lady Canons opened up a five-point lead (20-15) at the end of the first quarter before extending it to 11 points (42-31) at the break.
It was a tough evening for Ninette Uwineza, who was lifted out in the third quarter due to a nasty collision.
Despite the fight from KCCA Leopards to match the Lady Canons (22-22) in the third quarter, the Mukono-based side maintained an 11-point lead at the end of the third quarter.
It was an end-to-end final quarter as the Lady Canons secured a 14-point victory in front of a parked-up Lugogo Arena.
Shillah Lamunu was instrumental in the game, posting a double-double of 20 points and 11 points.
Shakira Nanvubya (20), Tracy Namugosa (11), and Aziida Nabayunga (10) scored in double figures.
On the other hand, Perus Nyamwenge and Margaret Bagaala dropped 20 and 11 points respectively.
The Lady Canons showed hunger and resilience in the game as they claimed 62 rebounds, 12 more than KCCA Leopards.
