Newly crowned betPawa Futsal super league champions Park and crowd darling Kisenyi face off in the epic 2024 Futsal super on the evening Saturday, June 8 at the Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Having also won the Futsal Uganda Cup, Park is eyeing an unprecedented treble in a red-letter season where they amassed a total of 50 points from 18 matches.
Perhaps, it will not be a mere walk in the park for Park Futsal Club as Kisenyi who finished second on the leaderboard (38 points) is a determined soul ready to soil their party.
Park completed the league season unbeaten and their head coach Sula Malouda Matovu, a former Uganda Cranes player believes they have the impetus to make things happen.
“We are more than ready for the encounter. We also want to win this trophy” Matovu stated.
Talisman Michael Abura will lead the surge for Park’s goals during the winner takes it all duel.
The Park choir will be completed with the likes of Anthony Africa, Samuel Kalyango, among others.
Sulaiman Sekanyo, Kisenyi’s head tactician reasons otherwise.
“We are ready to atleast complete the season with something to show and we are capable. The good news is that my players are in good shape and those who were on injury are back and fit to play and their spirit is maximum, ready to battle because our training has been intense in preparation for this game. All we want is to win super cup and close this futsal calendar with a trophy as we wait for the coming one” Sekanyo told FAU media.
Kisenyi will dwell upon several players as Abdulkarim Abdullahi Ahmed, Shafici Darir, Julius Kassaga, Marvin Ategeka among others.
This will be the third edition of the Futsal super cup.
Typhoon and Luzira Thunders are the other winners of the Futsal super cup.
Meanwhile, there will be individual award to the different outstanding performers in the season as the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Golden Glove (Best Goalkeeper), best defender, top scorer, best playmaker, youngest player and most outstanding coach.
Lubaga Grameen’s Michael Lubowa netted a half century (50 goals) to claim the golden boot, off 20 matches.
Lubowa set a new record having surpassed Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba’s previous record of 48 goals in 26 games.
Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) is the body mandated to organize official Futsal competitions in the country, under the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
