KIU Titans secured a well-deserved 74-71 victory against Namuwongo Blazers in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
The Titans put a stop to the Blazzers’ seven-game winning streak as they extended their impressive to 10 successive wins.
The Titans opened up a three-point lead (18-15) at the end of the first quarter.
Jimmy Williams’ long shot from downtown climaxed the second quarter as the Blazers fought from down to take a four-point lead.
Two successive long shots from Innocent Ochera and one from Jimmy put the icing on the cake as the two sides went into the locker rooms.
Returning for the third quarter, the Titans were so motivated to limit the Blazers to only 11 points as they opened a three-point lead.
Joel Lukoji led the Titans’ scoring chart with 16 points. Temporary Kasereka and Juff Mpiya joined the party with 10 and 13 points respectively.
Innocent Ochera scored a 22-point game-high as Jimmy Williams and Peter Cheng dropped 16 and 14 points respectively.
