2024-2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup:
- Second semi-final: Kitara 0-1 Vipers (Vipers qualify 2-0 on aggregate)
Vipers Sports Club booked their berth to the final of the 2024-2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup on Saturday, 17th May 2025.
This followed a 1-0 victory over the last year’s winners Kitara at the Butema Royal Park playground in Hoima city.
Abdul-Karim Watambala scored the all-important goal on the evening.
Vipers qualified to the final with a 2-0 aggregate won over the two legs played.
During the first leg played at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende, the Venoms needed a last minute gasp winner from Yunus Sentamu to take the advantage.
The return leg came barely three days after Vipers had faced the same opposition, winning 2-0 on the day to clinch the 2024-2025 Uganda Premier League title, their 7th in history.
Vipers who have won the Uganda Cup thrice (2015–16, 2019–20 and 2022–23) now await the winner of the second semifinal between Mbale’s Kataka and KCCA.
Kataka and KCCA face off on Sunday, 18th May 2025 at Mbale city Stadium.
KCCA has the first leg advantage, having won 3-0 at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, Kampala.
KCCA has ten Uganda Cup titles won in 1979,1980, 1982, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993, 2004, 2017 and 2018.
The final will be played at the newly constructed Kadiba stadium on 31st May 2025, under floodlights.
