Tanzania’s Simba will be looking to earn a positive result away in RS Berkane when they meet in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Msimbazi will be playing in their first final and want to go on and win it but must get a decent result at the Stade de Municipal Berkane if they are to lift the trophy in their home land a week later.

Steven Mukwala, Uganda Cranes striker who plies his trade with Simba is confident of getting a good result although he anticipates a tough clash against a very good RS Berkane side.

“We expect a great challenge against a very good side,” Mukwala told the Daily Monitor. “Our aim to get a positive result and then finish the job home,” he added.

Unlike Simba, RS Berkane are seasoned continental campaigners having won the Caf Confederation Cup in 2020 and 2022 and also reached the final last year.

A trophy and prize money worth $ 2 million [Ugx. 7.3 billion] with runners taking half of that.

This will be the third meeting in history of both teams with RS Berkane winning 2-0 at home and then Simba won 1-0 in Dar es Salaam.
