Buddo SS eject Bukedea Comprehensive to qualify for finals | 2025 USSSA Boys football

2025 USSSA Boys’ football (Semi-finals):

• Bukedea Comprehensive School 0 (4) – 0 (5) Buddo
• Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) 0-1 St Mary’s Kitende (Abandoned in 39th minute)

Buddo Secondary School is through to the finals of 2025 USSSA Boys football championship in Ngora.

The Wakiso zone-based school eliminated Teso zone’s Bukedea Comprehensive School 5-4 in post-match penalties.

This was after normal time of this interesting contest had ended goal-less.

Buddo SS is coached by former Uganda Cranes international Richard Malinga.

They now await the second semi-final duel between Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) and St Mary’s Kitende.

The game between JIPRA and St Mary’s Kitende was abandoned in the 39th minute with the latter leading 1-0 after crowd trouble.

Semi-final 2:

The second semi-final has dark horses Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) against St Mary’s Kitende.

JIPRA secured their slot at the expense of Mentor SS from Lira with a 1-0 result courtesy of captain Richard Okello’s goal.

St Mary’s Kitende bundled out Kibuli SS 3-0 during the one-sided quarter final.

Claude Wakenge set the ball rolling with a well struck contested penalty in the 12^th minute.

Dennis Kisiriko added the other 10 minutes into the second half with a simple tap-in and Arafaat Nkoola sealed the victory with a header in the 69^th minute.

Over 1600 players featured in this championship organized by the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA).

All the 64 schools received two sets of jerseys from the organizers.

The finals and third place play-off match will be played on Wednesday, 14^th May 2025.
