As the 2025 USSSA Ball Games one come to a climax on Tuesday, 13th May, there are plenty of positives to take home.
First things first, raw talent has been showcased; entertainment provided in abundance and the hitherto demanding schedule of school routine broken to grant the students that worth-while break.
Girls’ football has been one palatable meal served to the populous on the rich menu of games.
That said, for the last 9 days, stylish display has been exhibited with visible elements of fair-play, diligence, teamwork, sportsmanship, passion, aggression and the will-power to win.
The final round of games will be played on Tuesday with the classification games and the grand finale between Wakiso zone ambassadors St Noa Girls Zana and Amus College from Teso zone.
The finals follow the successful completion of the two epic semi-finals, both played at the Amus college stadium, watched by a big crowd who included the Uganda Crested Cranes head coach Sherly Botes.
St Noa Girls Zana was rather bullish in their approach against Isingiro district’s Boni Consili Girls Vocational school, winning 4-1.
Lethal forward Slyvia Kabene led the assault with a well taken brace.
Patricia Nayiga and Happiness Dominic added a goal apiece.
Ashanti Imurinde Uwayo scored the consolation for Boni Conciili Girls Vocational.
The second semi-final duel between Amus College and Kawempe Muslim indeed lived to the anticipated aspirations and billing.
In normal time, four goals were netted in varying fashion as the two schools shared the spoils, to send the decisive moment into post-match penalties.
Amus College School triumphed 6-5 in the spot-kicks.
The coveted prizes (trophy and gold medals), a lot is at stake for the two finalists Amus College School and St Noa Girls Zana.
The fans in the stands ought to expect a mouth-watering clash, one that will settle the egos for good as the teams fight for the enviable bragging rights aside.
