Wakiso Giants officially got relegated from the Uganda Premier League on Saturday after a 5-0 loss to KCCA FC on Saturday at MTN-Omondi Stadium.
The Purple Sharks who ended the game with a man less, were humbled, a result that confirmed their drop to the FUFA Big League.
Defender Ambrose Arinda was sent off midway the second half for a second bookable offence.
Prior, the sending off, KCCA FC had already taken a 2-0 lead through Ashraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume and Joao Gabriel.
Mugume fired the hosts into the lead in the 20th minute, converting from the spot when he was brought down in the box.
Brazilian forward who got a rare start today doubled KCCA lead a few minutes into the second half, heading home from Mugume’s delivery.
The scoring spree for the home side continued when Wakiso Giants were reduced to ten men with Umar Lutalo getting his maiden goal at KCCA .
Substitutes Yan Gatbel and Bright Anukani sealed the convincing win by getting a goal each.
The result means Wakiso Giants join Mbale Heroes and Soltilo Bright Stars as the three teams that have been relegated this season.
KCCA move to fifth place on 44 points while Wakiso Giants remain third from bottom on 20 points.
