Matchday 3 of the 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys football championship in Ngora district witnessed mouthwatering action at the various play grounds on Thursday, May 8.
On this day, also marked the official opening ceremony at Ngora High School playground with a contest between the host school Ngora High and the Wakiso district representative, Kyaddondo SS.
Ngora district deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Jacinta Ayo was the chief guest during the opening ceremony.
Kyadondo SS, skippered by KCCA midfielder Brian Ijara, won the day 1-0 courtesy of Thomas Ogema’s strike to make it two wins in two matches.
That said, the result was good enough for Hakim Ssenkumba’s coached side to qualify for the next phase (round of 32) with a game to play.
Other confirmed schools to the round of 32 include multiple champions St Mary’s SS Kitende who edged Luweero zone representatives Ssaku SS 2-0 at the BKC playground.
TESO zone representative Bukedea Comprehensive, coached by Ronald Ssali made it to the Round of 32 with a resounding 5-0 victory over Ndejje SS.
Simon Wanyama notched a hat-trick with Hamis Yabil and Tonny Ssengendo each scoring a goal apiece for Bukedea Comprehensive school.
“It remains work in progress. I am happy for the dominant performance in the game against Ndejje SS,” head coach Ssali remarked.

West Nile zone’s Mvara S S defeated Lubongo Army 3-0, St. Gerald S S fell 0-2 to Quality High School, Buikwe.
Edward Golola’s Highway S S Kiganda smiled 2-0 past St. Mary’s College Rushoroza whilst Blessed Sacrament Kimanya from Masaka zone lost 1-2 to Lagwai Seed School
In other matches, Jinja zone’s Lakeside Masese outpowered Labira Girla 2-1, Luweero S S lost 0-1 to Kampala representatives Buziga Islamic School.
The game between Kabalega S S and the reigning Kampala zone champions, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga, ended in a 1-all stalemate.
The reigning champions, St Julian High School, is also through to the last 32 after winning their first two matches of the tournament.
The matches continue on Friday across the different groups as the schools eye the round of 32 berths.
The Round of 32 matches will be played on Saturday, 10th May 2025.
The eliminated schools will play in the classification duels until the final day of the championship.
