UCU Lady Canons secured a convincing 72-52 victory against Nabisunsa Girls in the National Basketball League at YMCA Court in Wandegeya on Wednesday.
Hajara Najjuko’s long-range shot concluded the first period, giving the UCU Lady Canons a seven-point lead.
Igiraneza Christa’s jump shot capped off the second period, allowing the Lady Canons to extend their lead to 23 points at halftime.
Nabisunsa Girls struggled significantly, scoring only six points in the third period, which left them trailing by 37 points at the end of that quarter.
Despite a determined effort from Nabisunsa in the final quarter, the Lady Canons maintained their dominance, winning by a margin of 20 points.
Martina Anyango led the UCU Lady Canons with an impressive double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.
In addition, Christine Saima and Hajara Najjuko both contributed with 11 points each.
Abigail Mpoza was the standout player for Nabisunsa Girls scoring a game-high 22 points.
