  • Maroons 0-1 Vipers SC

Express FC rallied from two goals down to snatch a point against UPDF in a thrilling encounter played at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.

The hosts, in a lackluster first half conceded twice in a space of two minutes with Samuel Ssekamatte and Joseph Janjali delivering the goods for the army side in the 32nd and 34th minute in a dominant show.

But the second half belonged to the Red Eagles who scored on the hour mark through Sam Ssenyonjo and got the leveller five minutes to time when substitute Geoffrey Gagganga headed home Hakim Wandera well executed corner kick.

The seven-time champions had what appeared like genuine penalty appeals turned down when Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa was twice impeded in the area.

In the end, a draw was the most deserving result as both sides moved to 33 points with Express in 9th courtesy of better head-to-head stat as they won 10th UPDF away in the reverse fixture at Bombo.

In the early kick off, Allan Okello converted a controversial penalty to give Vipers a 1-0 win over hosts Maroons at Luzira to extend their lead to eight points over second placed NEC.
