Ghana secured a commanding 2-0 victory against St Mary’s Kitende in the CAF Africa Schools Championship on Wednesday.
A brilliant brace from John Andoh was enough to seal the win, as the hosts claimed all three points on the day.
Andoh opened the scoring in the third minute with a stunning curler, weaving past several defenders inside Kitende’s penalty area before finding the back of the net.
Kitende pushed for an equalizer towards the end of the first half but struggled to convert their chances, failing to register a shot on target.
After the break, Kitende’s captain came close with a powerful effort, but his shot flew just wide of the goal.
Midway through the second half, Andoh struck again to double Ghana’s lead. He pounced on a loose ball after Kitende’s goalkeeper failed to make a clean save.
Kitende will now look to regroup and put together a stronger performance in their remaining group-stage matches in the ongoing championship.
