The first ever edition of the Jaysville Golf open will take center stage this Saturday, 22nd March 2025 at the 9-hole Mary Louise Simkins Golf club in Namulonge.
Over 100 players are targeted for this day long-championship whose main sponsor is Jaysville Bar and Grill, Namulonge.
According to the tournament director George Kato, the mode of play on the day will be medal full handicap.
The players will be categorized according to their playing handicaps in groups A, B and C for men with the ladies in A and B.
There will also be a section reserved for the seniors (55 years and above).
These shall be the prize categories as well as the side-bets; longest drive and nearest to the pin for either gender.
The green fees per person are fixed at Ug.Shs 50,000 per person.
The local organizing committee has a host of experienced personnel including the lady captain Charity Atuhaire, George Kato (Tournament director) and others.
Tee-offs will start as early as 7 AM until 1 PM.
The after-party and prize presentation will be at the Jaysville Bar and Grill in Namulonge with the old school dress code.
The golfing field is expected to have players from a number of clubs as Mary Louise Simkins Golf club Namulonge, Uganda Golf Club (UGC), Entebbe, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Masindi, Mbarara, Jinja, Lugazi Hills and Country Club (Mehta), Kabale, Mbale, Lira, Arua and elsewhere.
