KCCA has blown hot and cold this season, but they will be aiming to build on their recent win when they take on UPDF in the Uganda Premier League today.
In their last outing, KCCA secured an emphatic 5-0 victory over struggling Mbale Heroes at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The well-deserved win ended a six-game winless streak, restoring hope among fans and management during a challenging period.
Historically, KCCA has dominated encounters against UPDF, remaining unbeaten in their last 13 meetings, with eight wins and five draws.
This record gives them confidence as they travel to Bombo for this crucial fixture.
KCCA head coach Abdallah Mubiru expressed optimism ahead of the game, emphasizing the team’s thorough preparation and positive mindset.
“We have prepared well against UPDF FC, which has always been a stubborn opponent for us,” Mubiru stated.
“The boys have trained well all week; the mood in camp is high, and we hope to use our previous game as a momentum shift as we head into the final bend of the league,” he added.
KCCA will be without Steven Munguchi and Mustafa Mujuzi due to injuries. While Ettiene Katenga and Hassan Muhamud have returned to training, they are not yet fit for this match.
On the other hand, UPDF will welcome back Christopher Kawagu, who missed their previous defeat to URA due to suspension.
