Uganda Men mirrored their Day One performance in the knockout phase of the 2025 World Rugby 7s Challenger Series opening round in Cape Town the next day: one big loss, one victory.
Portugal smoked them in the 5th-place playoff semifinal but they got the better of Japan in the 7th-place playoff final.
Uganda’s Day Two Results:
- 5th-place Playoff Semifinal: Portugal 47-05 Uganda
- 7th-place Playoff Final: Uganda 17-07 Japan
This hot-and-cold performance was just enough for them to finish within the top eight ranked teams in the tournament.
The second round will be played at the same venue this coming weekend on March 7-8.
