SC Villa must avoid last season’s mistakes and beat URA if they are to keep hopes of a first league title in over 20 years alive.

The Jogoos take on the tax collectors in the penultimate match of the campaign just a year after falling to the same opponent on the last day of last season.

Villa then had to win to lift the trophy but lost to Fesali Najib header.

Now, a win will not make them champions but will ensure they go into the final day with an opportunity to add to their 16-titles especially if results elsewhere go their way.

“We understand the importance of tomorrow’s game,” said Gavin Kizito. “We need to collect maximum points and stay in the title race,” he added.

“URA is not an easy team given the quality of their players, but our ambitions still remain. We call upon the fans to come in large numbers because their support is much needed.”

Villa sit third with 51 points, one behind leaders and will move top of the table if they win given BUL and Kitara falter at Mbarara City and Soltilo Bright Stars.

Hot Stat: Villa have not beaten URA since a 3-0 win in 2018 at Masaka Recreation Ground. Since then, eleven league matches have been played with URA winning 5 [D6]
