KCCA FC finally let the Kakyeka Stadium monkey off their back after securing victory away against Mbarara City FC on Tuesday.
The Kasasiro Boys had never won a game at Kakyeka Stadium against the Ankole Boys but they eventual earned a 2-0 victory today.
Two second half goals from Emmanuel Anyama and Etienne Katenga guided KCCA FC to victory.
KCCA FC started the better side with Anyama, Katenga and Derrick Nsibambi all getting close in the opening minutes.
On the other hand, the best chance for the hosts fell to Yusuf Makhtum in the 33rd minute but goalkeeper Mutwalibi Mugolofa was well stationed to deny him.
The breakthrough eventually came in the 56th minute with Anyama tapping home from Nsibambi’s lay up.
Katenga doubled the lead for KCCA FC twenty minutes to fulltime thanks to Sharif Ssengendo’s assist.
KCCA FC end the first round in third place on 27 points, seven behind leaders Vipers SC. On the other hand, Mbarara City FC are just two points above the drop zone in 13th position on 14 points.
